Every few days I am highlighting individuals who recently received my Community Recognition Award for their service to Etobicoke Centre. Today I would like to highlight the work of Stella Wizniak, for Outstanding Volunteer Service to Seniors.
Stella Wizniak is an incredibly devoted volunteer at the St Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Development Corporation. Her commitment spans over 27 years, starting with our organization’s annual Walk-a-thon fundraiser for Seniors.
Stella’s involvement extends to the heart of their seniors’ social activities. She leads the weekly bingo sessions at St Demetrius, taking over from her mother after she passed.
Stella is also an active member of their volunteer Development Committee, where she helps plan events such as bazaars and yard sales. From setup to tear down, Stella never says no and is always ready to help.
Stella’s impact on their organization and senior community at large is truly remarkable.
This award is not just an acknowledgement of her individual efforts but a heartfelt celebration of the positive and lasting influence she has had on our community.
