Every few days I am highlighting individuals who recently received my Community Recognition Award for their service to Etobicoke Centre. Today I would like to highlight the work of Jonah Schwartz, for Outstanding Service by Employees or Professional Staff.
The Valley Voices Community Choir is an Etobicoke success story. It began in September 2022 as the pandemic was lifting with 8 members from the former church choir. It grew rapidly to 70 members within just a few months, thanks to the enthusiastic musical direction of Kate Brown, assisted by Technical Director, Kevin Curnock and Accompanists Jonah Schwartz (Piano) and Jeff Kahl (Guitar).
Choir members repeatedly say how much they enjoy attending, thanks to Kate’s vivacious personality, the talented Accompanist/AV team and the wonderful supportive community provided by the other choir members. The choir brings the gift of music to the
community via frequent performances at senior’s homes, church events and their Christmas carolling in the neighbourhood.
