It was a pleasure to meet with Shelley Kyte and Sarah Thompson, two teachers who work in Etobicoke Centre, who are participating in the 27th annual Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy in Ottawa!

We had a great discussion about the importance of civics education and finding meaningful ways to engage students in our democratic process. Teachers play an essential role in helping young Canadians understand our democracy and the importance of participating in it.
