Today marks the sixth National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day.
We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to live with their traumatic legacy.
Today is a day to reflect, to learn, and to recommit ourselves to the work of truth and reconciliation — to understand and acknowledge these wrongs, to ensure these atrocities are never forgotten, and to take the steps needed to move forward together on the path of reconciliation.
