Good news for housing in Etobicoke! Today, at The East Mall and Bloor, I joined community partners and KingSett Capital for the ribbon cutting to open West Square in Etobicoke Centre. This major new rental housing community is delivering 217 affordable rental homes and 277 market rental homes. Our government helped make this possible by providing a $235.9 million federal low-interest loan for the project.
Making housing more affordable is a priority for me and for our government. To do this, we are making unprecedented investments to increase housing supply and bring costs down. Our government is focused on building homes at scale and speed, making housing more affordable, and building stronger communities. That’s an important part of how we’re building Canada Strong.
I will continue to do all I can to help make housing more affordable, and we will continue to take action to build more homes, boost supply, and bring costs down.
