📢 Construction of Etobicoke stations for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension has begun! On Friday, we announced that excavation is starting for underground stations at Martin Grove, Kipling, Islington and Royal York!
This is an important milestone in the work to tunnel and build this important transit project in Etobicoke Centre:
✅ We secured tunnelling after fighting for it to be tunnelled from 2015 to 2017.
✅ We obtained provincial funding in early 2018.
✅ We secured $1.9 billion in federal funding in 2021.
The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will improve the quality of life for people in Etobicoke Centre and across the GTA by:
👉 Providing access to fast and reliable public transit.
👉 Reducing traffic leading to shorter commute times.
👉 Supporting our economy.
👉 Helping to reduce carbon emissions.
