It was a pleasure to attend the Canada's Building Trades Unions reception and connect with labour leaders and parliamentarians about the important role skilled trades workers play in building Canada.
From housing and infrastructure to ports, shipbuilding, and critical projects across the country, unionized skilled trades workers are helping drive economic growth, strengthen communities, and build a more affordable and resilient Canada.
Our government’s $6 billion investment in Team Canada Strong is a nationwide effort to recruit, train, and hire up to 100,000 new Red Seal trades workers over the next five years. This will help ensure Canada has the skilled workforce we need to deliver major projects, build more homes, and create good-paying union jobs across the country.
