Today, Eastern Rite Catholics and Orthodox Christians like my family and I mark Easter.
Easter is normally a time of happiness, renewal, and faith, but the past few years have been a particularly difficult time for many Orthodox Christians and Eastern Rite Catholics as Russia continues its war on Ukraine.
This Easter, let us keep in our hearts and our prayers the brave men and women who are fighting courageously for their freedom and remember that they are defending our security as well. Their fight is our fight.
That is why we must support the Ukrainian people until they win – until we all win.
I wish you and your family continued strength, courage and perseverance. May this Easter be a source of hope, of faith and victory.
