I was proud to join Canada’s Minister of Defence, David McGuinty, and MP colleagues to announce that Canada is providing 400 additional armoured vehicles to the Ukrainian armed forces.
The armoured vehicles, 383 of which are manufactured by Roshel in the GTA, are part of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s recent pledge of an additional $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
Canada has been a global leader supporting Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s aggression. Canada has committed more than $25.5 billion in overall support to Ukraine, including $8.5 billion in military assistance.
Supporting Ukraine is not only the right thing to do, but it is the right thing for Canada - If Russia wins, it will not stop at Ukraine, that is why Ukraine’s victory is vital to Canada’s security.
Canada is unwavering in our support for Ukraine. We must stand with the people of Ukraine until they win.
