Advocating for the restoration of integrity to our immigration and asylum system

I have been advocating that we take the steps needed to restore integrity to our immigration and asylum system.
In 2023 alone, asylum claims from Mexican citizens accounted for 17% of all claims made that year. Mexican asylum claim rates have risen over 9,000% since 2016. The majority of these claims (60%) were either rejected, withdrawn, or abandoned by the applicant.
Our government has announced that Mexican citizens will need a visa to travel to Canada. Those with a US non-immigrant visa or who have held a Canadian visa in the past 10 years will be exempted.
