Continuing to work hard at the federal level to ensure we stop car thefts and break-ins in Etobicoke Centre

I have been working hard at the federal level to ensure we stop car thefts and break-ins in our community.
Last week the federal government announced an additional investment of $15 million to support the work of law enforcement agencies combatting auto theft in Canada and $3.5 million for INTERPOL’s joint transnational vehicle crime project to enhance information sharing and investigative tactics to identify and retrieve stolen vehicles and parts around the world.
To facilitate taking custody of detained stolen vehicles from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), $9.1 million of this funding will also be extended to local police across Canada.
Criminals need to know that crime won't pay and that they will face consequences when they break the law and violate the safety of our homes and our community.
