Since 2015, we fought together successfully to ensure that the province and city tunnelled the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (also known as the Eglinton West LRT).

 

We then secured funding from the Government of Ontario for tunnelling.

 

As your MP, I have advocated with the Prime Minister and Ministers for the federal government to provide the necessary funding to build this important transit project in our community. And we did it again when the Government of Canada announced that it would do just that and provide ~$2 billion to build the tunnelled Eglinton Crosstown West Extension!

 

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will improve the quality of life for people in our community and beyond by:

 

Creating fast and reliable public transportation;

Significantly reducing traffic leading to faster commute times;

Connecting people to downtown, the Airport Corporate Centre, other parts of the City of Toronto and the GTA;

Help reach our goal of net-zero by 2050.
