I have been working hard at the federal level to ensure we stop car thefts and break-ins in our community.
This week, Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc announced our government will invest an additional $28 million to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to put in place new tools and technologies that will help them search shipping containers which are often used to ship stolen cars to other countries.
Unfortunately, the Conservative opposition voted against funding to the CBSA to protect our borders and funding to the RCMP to fights guns and gang violence. Recently, Conservatives voted against over $1.5B in funding for the CBSA.
