Check your bank accounts! Earlier this month, the first quarterly payment of the carbon tax rebate (Climate Action Incentive rebate) was paid to constituents in Etobicoke Centre.
Did you know that most Canadians receive more in carbon tax rebates than they pay in carbon tax? In Ontario, the vast majority of families receive more money back from the quarterly rebate than they pay into the pollution pricing system, with low and middle income households benefiting the most. This year, a family of four will receive up to $976 in Ontario.
If it was up to Pierre Poilievre, Canadians would not be getting these quarterly rebates because if you 'axe the carbon tax' as he is demanding, you also axe the rebate, leaving most Canadian families financially worse off.
Pierre Poilievre has no plan to address climate change and his plan to axe the rebate, would actually leave most Canadians financially worse off.
