Asking Department of Finance Officials to describe the impact of the new mortgage charter

WHAT IS THE NEW MORTGAGE CHARTER? I've heard from many constituents in Etobicoke Centre who are concerned about the rise in interest rates and the impact on their mortgage payments. For many constituents it's a significant struggle. Our government has brought in a number of mortgage protections including the new mortgage charter.
The new mortgage charter will help Canadians in financial difficulty so that they receive fair, reasonable, and timely mortgage relief measures from banks to support them through difficult times.
Recently, at the Standing Committee on Finance, I asked Department of Finance Officials to describe the impact of the new mortgage charter.
